Sustainable Office Decommissioning

Each year, an estimated 10 million tons of office furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) are discarded into landfills across the US and Canada. Sustainable decommissioning offers a transformative solution to this waste crisis by unlocking measurable ESG value during workplace transitions. This course explores how sustainable decommissioning reduces carbon footprints, strengthens communities, and advances circularity in corporate builds, moves, renovations, and refreshes. Additionally, it highlights how these practices align with LEED(R) v4.1 standards for Building Design and Construction (BD+C) and Operations and Maintenance (O+M), providing actionable insights for achieving sustainability goals and elevating corporate responsibility.
