Dynamic Environments for Effective Blended Learning

Higher education institutions have gained valuable insights from the post-pandemic shift to hybrid learning. As this model is here to stay, technology continues to drive significant changes in the physical environment. The lines between online and offline spaces are increasingly blurred, with digital activities shaping physical spaces. To support hybrid learning, institutions must prioritize flexibility--adjustable furniture, dedicated collaboration areas, visual cues for online interaction, and seamless integration of acoustics and A/V technology to enhance in-person and remote engagement. Designing or retrofitting learning environments to meet these needs requires careful planning for high performance and adaptability. Through case studies, the audience will explore what works and what doesn't, and how virtual classrooms are reshaping traditional in-person spaces, offering insights into how these shifts can be leveraged to create more dynamic, inclusive, and effective environments.
